Brianne Morris

Brianne Morris has wanted to work in health care since the age of 4. And as a student in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Robert Morris University, she's getting the hands-on experience she needs to succeed.

"Being in the clinical setting was a little scary at first, but the faculty were really good about easing us into it," Brianne recalls. "We never went unprepared. We never felt like we were alone."

At RMU, Brianne has experienced everything from life-saving situations in a hospital to a life-changing mission to Nicaragua. "I remember our first interaction with patients, and how appreciative they were. It was gratifying. I could tell that I was doing what I was meant to do."

Brianne says she also appreciated the opportunity to take anatomy, physiology and biochemistry during freshman year. "It was nice we had those nursing classes right off the bat; in some schools, you have to wait until your sophomore year for things like anatomy."

I could tell that nursing is what I wanted to do.
